Applying for a License

Thank you for your interest in producing officially licensed Florida State University merchandise. The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) serves as Florida State University’s licensing agent and coordinates all requests for licensing.

CLC is the oldest and largest collegiate licensing agency in the nation, currently representing more than 200 colleges, universities, bowl games, athletic conferences, The Heisman Trophy, and the NCAA. Headquartered in Atlanta, CLC is a full-service licensing agency, which employs a staff of more than 80 licensing professionals with the capability of establishing and managing every aspect of a collegiate licensing program.

If you are interested in obtaining a license to produce Florida State University merchandise, please contact The Collegiate Licensing Company to obtain an application. They can be reached at 770.956.0520 or visit their website at <www.clc.com> and follow the links to obtaining a license.

Florida State University's licensing program has more than 500 manufacturers licensed to produce a variety of products. We feel that certain product categories are sufficiently supplied by our current base of licensees and may be unavailable to new companies. Therefore, you will need to provide detailed information about your company, product, retail relationships, and marketing plan.

  • A Standard License is available to companies interested in producing Florida State merchandise for distribution to the retail community.
  • The Local/In-state License is an option for companies who are only interested in producing product for Florida State and/or other in-state universities. Companies licensed under the local/in-state agreement do not have the option of pursuing other universities outside the state of Florida for a period of one year. This option is recommended for new companies or companies new to licensing.
  • The Restricted License is available to companies that produce product for internal consumption only. Florida State does not grant apparel licenses to restricted companies.
